Singtel Newsstand launches as mobile content consumption grows

Singtel has launched Singtel Newsstand, a service that offers digital subscriptions to a wide range of international and local newspapers and magazines.On the newsstand, Singtel postpaid mobile users will be able to enjoy access to the world’s best news, business and lifestyle coverage and analysis, as well as podcasts and videos, without drawing down their local mobile data allowance. Customers will be able to access all subscribed titles via the publishers’ own websites and apps once sign-up is complete, giving them an optimal reading experience.Singtel postpaid mobile customers will also be able to sign up for print, as well as digital subscriptions for selected titles, and charge them to their monthly bill.Diana Chen, Singtel’s vice president of Mobile Marketing, said: “Increasingly, our customers are turning to their mobile devices for their daily dose of news and current affairs. With Singtel Newsstand, we make premium news content from the world’s top publications more affordable and accessible than ever before. Our customers will be able to enjoy as many articles and videos as they like, knowing that their data usage is waived.”As Singtel Newsstand’s device partner, Samsung will offer a free three months subscription with every 12-month Singtel Newsstand contract.
