Singapore Airlines has renewed its contract with Dentsu Möbius without a pitch.
Confirming the appointment, Dentsu Mobius in a statement to Marketing said the agency will be responsible for leading the global social media strategy and social campaign planning for Singapore Airlines.
In addition, the agency handles the creative content production and measurement and insights for the brand across 6 social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram,Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+).
The contract extension is for a period of one year with an option to renew it for another year.
SIA has been working with the agency for two years now. It was first appointed by SIA in 2013 to boost the carrier’s social media presence.
Since Dentsu Möbius’ appointment the airline’s social media footprint has grown from 529,000 to over 3.85 million.
Notable social campaigns and activations for Singapore Airlines include the Global New Year’s Travel Resolution campaign, which was released in January 2015 and the announcement of the Premium Economy Launch on Instagram.
The former showed the airlines flexibility and engagement with social using listening to send fans across the world during the first days of 2015 to fulfill their New Year¹s travel resolutions. The latter was the first Instagram puzzle, challenging users to unscramble an image within the platform to be the first to receive the new class announcement news and product details.
More recent projects include coverage of Singapore Airlines¹ first CSR flight initiative with Community Chest Singapore, and the airline¹s sponsorship of Team Singapore, highlighting the lengths the Team Singapore athletes go to to be the best sportsmen and women they can be for their country.
One of the most sought after accounts in Singapore, SIA recently also appointed ZenithOptimedia as its media agency and TBWA as its creative agency.
Singapore Airlines is the main sponsor for Singapore Grand Prix and is currently running a campaign #RacewithSIA which shares updates from this year’s race.
The airilines is also giving away SIA F1 goodie bags to selected consumers who post selfies, videos, to a personal story and more to show why they are the “Biggest Fans” of race teams and performing artistes at the 2015 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.
