Simone Tam, former president and CEO of DDB Group Hong Kong and Guangzhou, has been appointed CEO of mcgarrybowen China, a creative agency belonging to the Dentsu Aegis Network.
Former DDB Group Hong Kong CCO Jeffry Gamble also joins mcgarrybowen China as chief creative officer. Both Tam and Gamble will be based in Shanghai. Their appointments are effective today.
Tam will oversee mcgarrybowen China’s overall operations and client management and lead the agency’s development of capabilities and new business. She will report to Phil Teeman, group MD at Dentsu Aegis Network China.
Meanwhile, Gamble will oversee the agency’s creative work and mentor and guide the creative team. He will also be on the Dentsu Aegis Network Regional Creative Council and Global Creative Galaxy.
“We are very excited to join mcgarrybowen. Under the big umbrella of Dentsu Aegis Network, we believe mcgarrybowen China offers our clients the scale and resources of a global network, as well as the agility, creativity and entrepreneurial attitude of a boutique agency,” Tam said.
Previously, Tam had worked for DDB for five years while Gamble had worked for DDB for over 15 years.
”Both with a challenger mindset, Simone and Jeffry have collaborated seamlessly in the past. Their proven success in building an agency to come out on top in terms of creativity and effectiveness will add tremendous value to power mcgarrybowen forward in the market,” Teeman said.
