Singapore Airlines is on a hunt for a new agency to push its online presence.
Marketing understands this is a closed door review held in Singapore, and several agencies have been invited to pitch.
A Singapore Airlines (SIA) spokesperson has confirmed the development, saying that the move was aimed at enhancing SIA’ s online presence.
“We are evaluating the appointment of a vendor to help improve the look and feel as well as usability of our website,” said Nicholas Ionides, vice president, public affairs,” SIA told Marketing.
SIA first appointed SapientNitro in 2009 for the global relaunch of singaporeair.com. Sapient was also working on SIA’s global sites.
SIA’s re-launched site went live in 2011, but faced much turbulence as the new site as plagued with bugs and a slow system, causing resulting in SIA’s call centre being flooded with angry calls.
When asked if Sapient had been invited to pitch for the latest review, Ionides declined to comment, also remaining tight-lipped on the agencies asked to tender.
Sapient could not be reached for comment at the time of publishing.
