Shortlist of agencies vying for SilkAir's creative account out

SilkAir has shortlisted three agencies for its creative pitch, Marketing understands that these agencies are Y&R Singapore, DDB and Ogilvy & Mather.Prior to this, Marketing understands Grey and M&C Saatchi were also involved.When last asked about the shortlist, SilkAir declined to comment on the details of the pitch. It added that it is still in the midst of the RFP and is unable to share the process of agency shortlisting at the moment. Marketing has again reached out to SilkAir for additional comments.“SilkAir is committed to reviewing the agencies in the fairest method and we hope to appoint an agency with the best capabilities for our upcoming business requirements,” a SilkAir spokesperson said.In November, the airline launched a regional pitch in a bid to appoint a creative, social and PR partner(s). The contract is for a period of two years with an option to renew yearly. Currently, SilkAir is working with DDB and Tribal and has no PR agency in place. The pitch is set to conclude on 1 April 2017.Although the requirement is to primarily support SilkAir’s head office located in Singapore, the agency/agencies should have the ability to leverage on its network of offices to fulfill brand communication needs in SilkAir’s other key markets of China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.The agency also needs to have the ability to work effectively with SilkAir’s appointed media buying agency, in development and implementation of its strategies.
