SG Scores Asian Netball Event

Singapore has been awarded the rights to host the ninth Asian Netball Championship 2014, which will be played at the upcoming Singapore Sports Hub's multi-purpose indoor arena.The championship is expected to feature 10-12 nations competing for the Asian title, and will also be the qualifier for the 2015 World Netball Championships which will be held in Sydney.The Singapore Sports Hub, which is due for completion in March 2014, will be holding the Asian Championships in June or July.Outbidding Pakistan in securing the rights to host the regional event, Singapore last hosted the Asian Netball Championship in 2005.Netball Singapore is working on getting netball included in the 2015 SEA Games, which will also be hosted in Singapore.Pakistan will be bidding to host the 2018 Asian Netball Championships.The rights to the host country were awarded by members of the Asian Netball Federation.
