After a decade leading marketing at Toys R Us Asia Li & Fung Group, Argha Sen is stepping down to pursue his other passion – food.
As regional marketing director at Toys R Us, Sen was responsible for eight markets across Asia, overseeing its successful Star Card CRM program, e-commerce initiatives as well as social and digital executions.
Sen is taking a six month sabbatical to do two things – learn and explore his passion for food.
“I plan to eat my way through some of the best foodie destinations in the world,” he told Marketing.
He said the areas of eCommerce, digital marketing, social media and CRM were rapidly evolving and it is important to remain ahead of the game.
“The goal is to keep learning, stay on top of trends and latest developments, and acquire more specialist knowledge in these exciting areas.”
He said he leaves the marketing team in a strong position at both a regional and local level.
“It’s been a fantastic career with Toys R Us, but it’s a good time for change. We’re still pushing the envelope in digital, CRM and now in eCommerce.”
Internally, senior marketing staff will take over parts of his job, reporting directly to the CEO. His last day with the Li & Fung Group is 14 September and he will temporarily relocate to India.
