SCB gets overall brand and marketing lead

Standard Chartered has appointed Sanjeeb Chaudhuri to the newly created role of group head of brand and chief marketing officer. Chaudhuri will be based in UK and the appointment is effective 1 April 2014.Chaudhuri currently serves as the bank’s regional head for South Asia and chief marketing officer for the consumer bank. In his new role, he will oversee all brand and marketing teams across the group, and take overall responsibility for developing a singular, cohesive brand strategy. The appointment follows  Standard Chartered’s move to restructure and integrate its wholesale and consumer banking businesses .Chaudhuri will also lead the bank's brand recognition efforts across digital and mobile channels. He will also play a key role in helping to deepen the understanding of its current brand proposition, "Here for Good".Chaudhuri joined Standard Chartered in 2011. In his new role he will report to Tracy Clarke, director of compliance, people and communications.Prior to his career with Standard Chartered Bank, Chaudhuri was CEO, Retail and Commercial Banking for Citicorp, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to that held senior marketing and general management positions at Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive and Unilever, across the healthcare, personal and household products, foods and beverage categories.
