Saatchi & Saatchi has won the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Cards business for usage and acquisition account, following a five-way pitch in May 2013.
Other agencies involved in the pitch were Lowe & Partners, Dentsu Utama, Y&R and Alpha245.
The agency is tasked to launch BSN cards and manage the creatives for acquisition and usage activity for BSN cards.
Puspa Marina Omar, head of strategic communications, BSN, said, “Saatchi & Saatchi proved to us that they understand our business and were willing to take big steps with us in line with our vision to expand our card business”.
“BSN is a brand with tremendous opportunity in Malaysia. It’s a brand that has been an integral part of Malaysia and Malaysians. With its ambition to shake things up, this would prove to be a very exciting venture for both the brand and the agency,” Adrian S’ng (pictured), general manager, Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia, told A+M.
S’ng added that the agency is working solely with BSN on their cards business and BSN also had briefed on projects that will stretch till 2014. Negotiations are underway for a retainer set up.
This is not the agency’s first banking account. It previously managed Alliance and UOB Bank.
