Rubicon Communications, publisher of Time Out Hong Kong and M life magazine for MGM Macau, has acquired independent restaurant guide WOM Guide for an undisclosed sum.
Founded 10 years ago by Fergus Fung and Samanta Pong, WOM Guide has become known for its independent reviewers and commentary across Hong Kong and more recently Macau.
is a lifestyle platform comprising an indispensable annual restaurant guide, engaging website and popular events catering to Hong Kong’s urban professionals who love dining out.
WOM said it will continue to be written by its own editorial panel, but use Rubicon Communications for additional operational resources to fully realise the brand’s potential and expand regionally.
“We are thrilled to be working with the Rubicon team, which has built Time Out Hong Kong into a significant lifestyle and entertainment platform,” says Fergus Fung.
“There are a lot of synergies and shared visions between us, with an aim to further strengthen WOM’s unique position.”

Founded in 2008, Rubicon Communications publishes Time Out Hong Kong magazine and runs a custom publishing operation as well as an events arm that organises the highly popular Time Out Wine Walk.
