Ries Strategy Positioning Consulting has elevated Simon Zhang to the position of global CEO.
The company said the appointment would help consolidate its capabilities in multiple markets, strengthen its global network collaboration, and help enterprises better build up their global brands.
“China is playing a dominant role among global markets in the 21st century, and it is also embracing unprecedented opportunities for global development. The successful practice of the positioning theory in Chinese enterprises indicates that it will unleash huge potential in the global markets. We believe that under the leadership of Zhang, Ries Strategy Positioning Consulting will help create more successful global brands,” said Al Ries, global co-chairs of Ries Strategy Positioning Consulting.
Zhang joined Ries Strategy Positioning Consulting in 2007 and since then has helped build up the China team. Zhang has worked for Reis with several leading Chinese and international brands, including high-end spirit manufacturer Kweichow Moutai, herbal tea brand Wong Lo Kat, Chinese range hood brand ROBAM, and Chinese SUV brand Great Wall Haval in China.
“I believe that in the 21st century, global competition and category building are the two most important trends. Therefore, we will step up efforts to support global companies build up their global brands and foster category innovation,” said Zhang. “We will take the US and China as the core battlefield, with India, Brazil, Germany, and Russia as the key markets.”
