Ferdi Wieling has been appointed executive creative director of the Reading Room Singapore Group, where he will steer the creative direction across Asia, Singapore and Hong Kong offices.Wieling was previously the creative group head at Reading Room London. In this position, Wieling led a team of interaction designers and developers in producing work across all digital platforms. With a background that includes over a decade worth of experience across print and user experience design, development, and consultancy, Wieling was a logical choice to oversee and add direction to a creative trifecta of equal parts design, technology and strategy.Wieling’s new position as executive creative director of the Singapore Group will now allow him to contribute to the growth of Reading Room Asia-Pacific by overseeing the creative output from Singapore. Working across a broad region, Wieling will work to integrate strategy and technology into traditional design. He says: “Operationally, I am looking forward to continuing to mentor the incredible talents we have in Singapore. In terms of direction, as Reading Room APAC moves to becoming more consumer-based, I will be leaning on my cross-disciplinary background to create cohesive and innovative user experiences for our clients.”Reading Room CEO Margaret Manning said: “I have no doubt that Ferdi will lead Reading Room Singapore’s creative team to new heights. His past work with Moneysupermarket and Clarence House in our London office and more recently, Mediacorp, Philips and Singapore Sports Council in the Singapore office continues to excite me—I am entirely confident in Ferdi’s plans for Reading Room Singapore.”
