“Wowowillie” can't get too sexy

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has placed TV5's noontime show "Wowowillie" on a three-month probation in response to complaints about the skimpy outfits worn by its female dancers. While the sexy dancers are the stars of the show, the organizers crossed the line in an episode aired last 16 April, when a dancer's bountiful cleavage went on full display on national television. On its official Twitter account, the MTRCB said that the show "accepts responsibility and apologizes to MTRCB for skimpy outfits & excessive flesh exposure."However, the board slapped a Strong Parental Guidance rating on the show effective immediately, in addition to its per-episode review of the show's episode for the next three months. The board also asked the organizers of the show to submit reform and self-regulatory measures no later than 6 May 2013.Wowillie's brand of racy entertainment has been under constant fire since Wowowee, an original ABS-CBN show brought to TV5 when its long time host Willie Revillame switched networks in 2010.Just last month, the MTRCB summoned Revillame for lashing out on co-hosts Ethel Booba and Ate Gay following a quarrel in the dressing room.Wowowillie is the second TV program to be put on probation by the MTRCB this year.Last February, GMA Network's afternoon music variety show "Party Pilipinas" was also placed on probation for six months over a "sexually charged" dance number.
