Dorothy Peng (pictured) has been named managing director at R/GA. Peng joined the agency as group account director across Unilever, lead a rapid expansion of remit, then added other clients including Nike and McCormick to her roster. According to the agency, Peng has already moved to further R/GA Singapore’s mission of putting design at the center of business solutions, helping its clients and the broader industry to understand and adopt these philosophies and practices.
Last year, Peng was behind Nikon’s naming of R/GA Singapore as global digital agency of record, before spearheading a second pitch that now has R/GA Singapore as Nikon’s Global end-to-end agency.
Jim Moffatt, EVP managing director APAC, R/GA, noted that Peng’s business and creative acumen was matched only by the across-the-board respect and admiration in which she is held by her staff and the agency’s clients.
“This is a logical but also deeply satisfying acknowledgement of someone who has been both heart and mind to R/GA Singapore for over three years,” said Moffatt. “Peng has brought our people together and brought out their best, built our clients’ trust and leveraged it to push them out of their comfort zone, and taken risks to produce transformational work. I’m excited she’s taking the reins and equally delighted to promote from within – it’s a sign of the team’s strength and our commitment to their development.”
Peng said, “Singapore is evolving by focusing on smarter services for its citizens, and R/GA is likewise in a constant state of reinvention to meet the developing needs of our clients. By transforming before change happens, R/GA is uniquely in sync with this market, offering a compelling proposition to the brands we serve, and the talent we attract and develop within our walls. Leading our team in that mission is an incredible privilege and an exciting challenge.”
