American technology company Quantcast has appointed Rueben Vijaratnam (pictured) as regional head, Malaysia to lead business growth across key agency groups and clients. Vijaratnam, who will be based in Singapore, will report to Chris Scudder, Quantcast’s commercial director of Southeast Asia and Greater China. With more than ten years of industry experience, Vijaratnam has held several senior digital consultancy roles across Southeast Asia, while working across the pillars of programmatic, display, search, native, and content marketing. “Malaysia’s adoption of programmatic advertising is rapidly increasing and the opportunity is evident. Being able to continue my career in a leadership position like this for Quantcast is a great honour. I look forward to building and scaling the business to even greater heights over the next few years and beyond,” said Vijaratnam. Scudder said that as Quantcast works towards “radically simplifying advertising” on the open internet, it aims to build its local strategy rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. “Vijaratnam joining the team made perfect sense. He understands the market, the opportunities and challenges that agencies and brands face, and will be instrumental in building out our local strategy and executing this across the Malaysian region. With Vijaratnam’s calibre, coupled with Quantcast’s increasing product offering, we are looking forward to fulfilling our potential in this region,” he added.
