Qihoo 360 introduces push notification ads feature

China's internet company Qihoo 360 has launched 360 mobile safe’s new feature – push notification ads, allowing local and overseas marketers to reach Chinese customers more effectively.The app not only provides security functions to users, it also allows brands to place ads and promotional messages on the application. The push notification local ads will pop up upon travelers’ arrival in any part of the world, thus serving more potential advertisers while extending their customer base internationally, as well as encouraging purchases and enhancing brand awareness.David Ip, global business advisor of Qihoo 360, said the feature helps convert local and overseas brands from passive communicators into active marketers. "With the location-based technology, we are capable of identifying the Chinese customers who are traveling to a particular city or country like Hong Kong, then pushing advertisements and coupons on the home screens of users’ mobile devices."With nearly 800 million users currently, the app has 90,000 daily active users in Hong Kong. In other popular countries for tourists from China such as Japan and the United States, there are 126,000 and 73,000 daily active users of the application respectively.
