Supermarket giant Puregold Price Club and Metrobank will be launching a special credit card for sari-sari store owners.
Antonio de los Santos, Puregold vice president for operations, said the project helps sari-sari store owners have access to credit, which is welcome news to the business’ core buyers who frequent stores to make bulk purchases.
“It’s a regular credit card they can use everywhere, but we are just giving them the opportunity to get their own credit card,” he said.
During Puregold’s Sari-Sari Store Convention yesterday, De los Santos said that credit card requirement will be eased but Metrobank will still evaluate their capacity to pay the bank.
Puregold said they will be providing a credit history of applicants based on the record of purchases they made in their stores – a move that reward loyal customers and entice new ones to join Tindahan ni Aling Puring.
Tindahan ni Aling Puring is a loyalty/entrepreneurship program that offers perks, discounts and loyalty rewards to its members who frequent Puregold stores.
Free delivery, call-order-pick-up service via call, SMS or e-mail; and wireless and cash-on-delivery transactions are also offered to patrons. It currently has around 240,000 store members.
