PUB’s “Kinship” film has gained international recognition at the 24th Canberra Short Film Festival under the International Category (Highly Commended), lauded by the judges for its "great storytelling and production quality". The production, released on 30 May 2019 on PUB’s Facebook and YouTube platforms, was PUB's first Hari Raya short film.

According to a press statement, "Kinship" was screened twice at the Australia-based film festival, and it was the only Singaporean film to receive the award among over 380 entries worldwide. Kinship was written and produced by creative agency Tribal Worldwide Singapore, and directed by Roslee Yusof from Freeflow Productions.

The short film tells the story of a pair of orphaned brothers who were separated 50 years ago aims to promote the value of water. Attracting more than 1.5 million views both locally and internationally, the film had gone viral and drew requests for a sequel that will see the brothers reunite. PUB later released an audio-story sequel "Dear Din from Zul" that was jointly created with the public who sent in their story ideas.

Cindy Keng, PUB's director of 3P Network, a department that develops educational and publicity initiatives, said: "The theme of kinship and the preciousness of water is truly universal and cuts across language and cultures. This recognition will spur us to produce higher quality public communication materials in the future."
