Former public relations & communications head
Enhancing media relations, building the corporate brand and profile of senior executives, providing advice to senior management on external and internal communications matters, handling crisis and issues communications, overseeing PR and publicity initiatives and driving corporate social responsibility strategies and initiatives across the region all come under her remit.
She has been with Cathay Pacific Group since 2005. Prior to Asia Miles, she held various positions in corporate communications at Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon (previously Dragonair) focusing on event management, community engagement, route launches, corporate social responsibility, and overseas PR.
She drove the airline’s signature CSR initiatives and flagship events, including the “I Can Fly” youth programme, “Change for Good” in-flight fundraising programme with UNICEF, and the Chinese New Year parade with the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Previous to the airline industry, she had extensive experience in the areas of marketing and PR at leading insurance players across the region, including AIA, New York Life and Bupa (Asia). She started her career in a PR and consultancy firm.
Kwan graduated with a BA in business administration (marketing) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She also joined the student exchange programme from the University of Western Ontario, Canada and spent a year at Ivy Business School.
Away from work she is passionate about French culture. Dance and yoga are her favourite ways to relax. She enjoys movies and performing arts, particularly contemporary dance, ballet and musicals. She obtained a Grade 8 in jazz at the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing.
