Pinoy GM exec named as Nissan PH's new president

Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) has roped in Antonio Zara, managing director for international sales of General Motors, to become its new president and managing director starting on August.Zara, a Filipino national, will replace Kenji Naito who will be moving on as senior vice president for strategic planning and business management at Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. (NMAP) in Bangkok.Appointed in December 2013, Naito established NPI as a joint-venture company with long time partners Universal Motors Corporation (UMC) and Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI). He also successfully led the launch of two global sedans in the Philippines - the Altima and the Sylphy.READ ALSO: Nissan unifies PH ops with new JV"This is an exciting time for us in the Philippines and I am very happy to have such a seasoned executive join us to grow the business in this dynamic market," said Toru Hasegawa, corporate VP for Asia and Oceania Business at Nissan Motors Co and president for Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co."At the same time, I would like to thank Naito for his valuable contribution in establishing the foundation of growth in the Philippines.
