Following a year of unprecedented growth, PHD China has added two newly created roles to its management team. Sandy Tan has been promoted to managing director of operations - data and tech integration, while Ian Dolan has joined the team from PHD UAE as head of strategy and planning.Tan has been PHD China’s head of digital on the Unilever business for the past two years. She will transition into a national role while remaining on the FMCG’s business. In the new role, Tan will be responsible for digital operations, delivering implementation, data and tech integration, and pushing forward data-informed and tech-supported digital execution. She will now work closely with Omnicom Media Group’s data and analytics division, Annalect, on creating ad-tech solutions, as well as activate Omnicom’s new people-based precision marketing and insights platform, Omni, for PHD’s clients in China.“I am excited to work on the continued elevation of our digital product in China, allowing our clients to benefit from the latest technology infrastructure and our new Omni platform to drive even stronger business outcomes from their digital activities," said Tan. Joining from PHD’s Middle East operation in Dubai, Dolan will work on furthering PHD China’s comms planning and digital capabilities, and report to the agency’s chief strategy officer, Mark Bowling. Dolan has been with the agency for 11 years across three different markets, most recently serving as head of strategy and content at PHD UAE. His arrival marked the second inter-office transfer for PHD China in the last six months, with strategy director Rachel Jena also transferring to Shanghai from PHD Singapore’s Global Strategy Unit earlier this year.“Joining PHD China was a natural next step for my career and growth with the network, given the amazing (and enviable) track record for growth the agency has established. Its new business wins and case studies in effectiveness have been recognised the world over. I look forward to working with the team on continuing the agency’s successful track record in China going forwards," commented Dolan. PHD China’s CEO, Anna Chitty, commented: “Agencies are reliant on talent to deliver best-in-class product offerings to our clients. In recognising our talent, Sandy has more than proven she can build digital operations, and truly leverage the value data brings to our clients’ businesses. Ian brings a wealth of valuable experience and knowledge and has long championed our tools and best-in-class product offering."
