PaperOne has come on board as an official sponsor of the Indonesian team for the upcoming 2018 Asian Games, which will be held in August this year in Jakarta and Palembag, South Sumatra. PaperOne is a paper product brand under APRIL Group.
The support will be driven by a 5.25 billion rupiah (US$375,000) sponsorship from Riau Andalan Kertas (RAK), a subsidiary of APRIL Group, of the Indonesian Olympic Committee.
Agung Laksamana, corporate affairs director of APRIL Group, said in a statement that the cooperation with the Indonesian Olympic Committee was evidence of PaperOne’s concrete commitment to supporting Team Indonesia. This is in international competition, including Asian Games.
“We hope, through this cooperation and sponsorship, we can help Team Indonesia’s athletes and officials to do their best for our country,” Laksamana added.
Erick Thohir, the chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, said that it is an honour to have APRIL Group place its trust in the Indonesian team. Thohir said that the team is grateful and the move is one which allows them to “write history together”.
“I appreciate and thank PaperOne for its commitment to supporting our athletes, who will enhance Indonesia’s name on the international stage. We hope this agreement will help our athletes optimize their preparation and give their best for Indonesia,” Thohir added.
Most recently, Swiss traditional watch brand Tissot has signed on as the official timekeeper for the 18th Asian Games Jakarta Palembang 2018.
