Omnicom Media Group Malaysia and book store MPH have collaborated to create a book called OMG Can Cook which it claims is a recipe book with a cause.OMG Can Cook was co-published in 2013 by Omnicom Media Group Malaysia and MPH, and to-date has sold more than 3,500 copies, has made several donations in various food related charities in Malaysia, one book at a time!On Thursday, 26 November, in a combined effort with Media Prima & TGV Cinemas, the OMG Can Cook team donated yet another RM5,000 to the Jinjang Soup Kitchen and helped prepare and serve the food to the needy. Since its inception in 2013, giving back all of its profits to the community, OMG Can Cook has a clear mission:Raise awareness against food wastageHelp the less fortunateStimulate change for a better tomorrow“We live in a food paradise with food abundance and variety. Yet, with food wastage at an estimated 15,000 tons a day in Malaysia alone, enough to feed 7.5 million people, it should not be the case that people go hungry with not at least one proper meal a day. From this poignant realisation and ironic juxtaposition, the OMG Can Cook project was designed in order to help raise awareness and change this situation,” said Andreas Vogiatzakis, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Malaysia. The OMG Can Cook recipe book’s journey started in late 2012 as an inter-company cooking event that engaged the employees of OMD and PHD Malaysia (the award-winning agencies of Omnicom Media Group). The idea was then born to create and publish a book and benefit the people who need it most.
