OMD promotes Ang to China CEO

Omnicom Media has promoted Arlene Ang as CEO for OMD China with immediate effect.Prior to her new role, she was China CEO for digital for two years where she responsible for building the agencies digital capability and creating business units across search, mobile, programmatic buying and social.Prior to that, she was managing director of OMD Beijing and lead on the Intel business, having joined OMD in 2010.Doug Pearce, CEO of OMD Greater China, described Ang as the perfect choice to drive OMD China forward. "Arlene has done an amazing job of creating our digital assets and she is well regarded by our clients and staff, which will help her transition into the new role, with ease. Our clients will welcome her digital know-how in addition to our strong traditional offer.”Steve Blakeman, OMD's Asia Pacific CEO, added that China was a vitally important market.“It’s a well-deserved promotion and a testament to our talent development program that we can make an internal appointment for such a crucial position in one of our priority markets.”Ang has over 20 years’ experience in the industry ranging from traditional advertising to digital, CRM, social and mobile. She launched her own digital marketing agency AdXplorer that developed into a network of 8 offices across Asia Pacific, which was sold to Publicis in 2004.“China is the world’s most dynamic market and I am thrilled to be working with such a strong team during this exciting phase of transformation,” Ang said.
