O&M Malaysia makes creative promotions

Integrated communications firm Ogilvy & Mather Kuala Lumpur has promoted Doneven Chew(pictured right) and Choo Chee Wee(pictured left) to deputy executive creative director and creative director respectively. The agency also hired CRM/direct marketing expert, Valerie Chen as creative director for Ogilvy One.Chew, who has played an instrumental role for his work with Nestle and Metlife was previously creative director, a role he has held since 2011. In his new capacity, Chew will spearhead an integrated team to provide a more holistic approach to the business and thereby enhancing client revenue streams and customer engagement.Choo succeeds Chew’s role as creative director for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising. Choo brings 15 years of experience from various markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Doha and China. As the new creative director, he will be responsible for Pizza Hut, BMW and Coke.“These promotions are a reflection of the company’s belief in elevating leaders from within to enhance its creative model and to better serve our clients’ needs based on ongoing demands and trends in the market,” Gavin Simpson (pictured centre top), chief creative officer of Ogilvy & Mather Kuala Lumpur, said.Additionally, CRM/direct marketing expert, Valerie Chen(pictured centre bottom) has also joined Ogilvy & Mather to take up the role of creative director for social and customer relationship management. With over 20 years of experience under her belt, Chan is no stranger to the industry and Ogilvy, having spent over a decade with the agency before leading the customer relationship management team at Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett.Most recently,Ogilvy Malaysia also appointed John Deschner as its chief executive officer. He will report directly to Kent Wertime, COO of Ogilvy Asia Pacific.
