O&M launches analytics centre

Ogilvy & Mather is launching its Marketing Analytics Centre of Excellence, which aims to measures the success of brand campaigns. This has beeand has been created with the support of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).It will serve as the Southeast Asia hub and also service regional clients.The analytics hub will leverage online and offline data to derive insights for campaigns. This will support all functions across Ogilvy from traditional ATL advertising, digital marketing, CRM, social and PR .EDB assistant managing director, Kelvin Wong, said: “The centre will help global brands penetrate Asian markets more effectively by translating consumer insights into customised, targeted and measurable marketing strategies.”He added this is part of the EDB’s vision to position Singapore as a marketing hub for Asia strategy. Earlier, the EDB highlighted an interest in the analytics and digital sector.Meanwhile, the division will be led by Will Adeney, Ogilvy & Mather’s vice president for marketing analytics in Asia-Pacific. “Data analytics are very important, but only so far as they provide information on traffic, bounce rate and original visitors. We will be focused much more on data like business metrics, traffic, leads and sales, also what kinds of events or campaigns help turn visitors into consumers,” Adeney (pictured left) said.Ogilvy & Mather Singapore also hired Sutowo Wong (pictured right) from Deloitte, who will head up the rapidly expanding Singapore Team. “This year we have been building up the network’s depth of expertise across the whole region with several other senior marketing analytics appointments with Leon Bombotas in Sydney and Chris Brewer in Hong Kong,” Adeney added.
