Olympus produces Hollywood-style action movie to sell new camera

Action movies are not my thing, but this new ad from Olympus has given me a new perspective on that. To highlight the new camera OM-D EM5 MarkII and its "image stabilisation system" feature, Olympus has rolled out a global ad campaign in the style of Hollywood action movies to show what the camera can do. From intense hide-and-seek in dark and rainy alleyways, to jumping from roof-to-roof, the three-minute video - OM-D Movie - features a classic Hollywood-style chase scene, shot entirely with the new Olympus camera.Completed by its creative partner Turn Creative, the campaign includes video on social media, TV, print ads and OOH ads. The agency said the commercials will run in China, Japan, Korea, South East Asia, Europe, and Australia.Viral video:https://vimeo.com/119821187TVC:https://vimeo.com/119821186Making-of:https://vimeo.com/119821185"The key selling proposition is the world’s best 5-axis image stabilisation system. It is so powerful that you can create an amazing movie even if you are on the go," said Tony Hon, founder and executive creative director of Turn Creative Limited."This a very typical Hollywood style action movie that has a lot of action. The video was shot with the new camera and at the same time there is a 'making of' video showing how the video was shot."[gallery link="file" ids="85126,85127,85128"]Credits:Agency: Turn Creative LimitedECD: Tony HonArt Director: Chuen Fan, Alan LamWriter: Jonathan MakAgency Producer: Nicole ChanFilm Director: Bowie YiuProducer: Henry KanPhotographer: Connie HongMedia: OMD
