Ogilvy Singapore executive creative director Francis Wee (pictured) has stepped down after holding the title for nearly three years. Marketing understands the agency currently has no plans for a replacement. In a statement to Marketing, Chris Riley, chief executive, Ogilvy Singapore said, "Wee has been instrumental in driving the creative agenda at Ogilvy Singapore and we want to thank him for his invaluable contributions over the years. We are truly fortunate to have such an enormous talent as a colleague and friend. We wish him all the very best in his new endeavours, which he will announce in due course."Reporting to former Ogilvy Asia chief creative officer Eugene Cheong, Wee was tasked to grow clients’ businesses in new and unconventional ways. The duo worked together to drive Ogilvy Singapore’s creative agenda and produce work that has both local impact and global influence. Wee officially joined the Singapore office in 2017, following a stint working on a project basis. Previously, he was the executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Shanghai from 2012-2014. He brought with him nearly three decades of experience in advertising in Asia.Meanwhile, his duties have been handed over to Ogilvy's co-chief creative officers Melvyn Lim and Nicolas Courant, who were promoted concurrently in July 2018. They took over responsibilities from Cheong, who played the role of an advisor and a mentor to them. The move allowed Cheong to focus on his regional role and ensure that the creative agenda remains aligned and at the forefront across Ogilvy’s 30 offices in 18 Asia Pacific countries.Marketing has reached out to Wee for a statement.Read more: Ogilvy Health names Dan Blomfield MD of Singapore ops Ogilvy names Jeremy Webb SEA VP of customer engagement and commerce Mastercard picks Ogilvy’s Sarah Guldin as APAC comms director Ogilvy’s Jarrod Reginald heads to Reprise Digital Ogilvy MY’s co-chiefs on resetting the agency to ‘reinvigorate the founder culture’ Ogilvy MY sees departures, CDs Jarrod Reginald and Maharis Azman exit
