OCBC gets tennis fans screaming with OOH activation

OCBC Bank and GOVT Singapore have launched an interactive tennis experience driven by voice recognition technology called "Passion Amplified", as part of the 2017 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore Fan Village Experience. The project is also supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), to encourage local creative agencies to utilise digital technology and explore innovative ways to improve audience engagement. The game, which uses audio recognition technology designed by Untitled Project, extracts and analyses volume and pitch, to determine the power, trajectory and timing of shots during the gameplay. Players can control the movement of their tennis avatars within the 3D tennis video game by using their voice.“Thanks to collaborative creative inputs from the partnership between OCBC Bank, GOVT and IMDA, we were able to take our Fan Village activation up a notch this year with an innovative and engaging voice recognition video game. The fans love how their on-screen avatars come to life just from the sound of their own voices. With the enthusiastic response from the crowd during the opening Sunday session, we look forward to having an even bigger audience join us at the Fan Village during this coming weekend to have their passion for tennis amplified with us," Goh Theng Kiat, CMO, OCBC Bank, said.“This wouldn’t have been possible without brave clients, the supportive folks at IMDA and the minds of our friends at Untitled Project. Together, we’ve built a tech-driven game with a compelling story. And it’s not just tech for the sake of it,” Tim Chan, ECD of GOVT, said. The OCBC Passion Amplified booth will be available until 29 October 2017.
