Magazine publisher New Media Group, owned by Emperor Group, has restructured its sales and marketing team.Cindy Chan, previously general manager of Weekend Weekly for nine years, has been promoted to the newly created role of chief of branded sales and marketing. Chan has worked for the group for over 15 years. In her new role, Chan leads three newly formed teams. The respective teams are headed by GM of beauty and well-being Iris Ho, assistant GM of leisure and lifestyle Rosita Ho and assistant GM of trendy and sports Sylvia Lam.Previously, marketers dedicated to each of the group's five magazines planned and implemented campaigns for clients for their particular magazine. After the restructuring, staff members in each team now carries out marketing activities across four of the group's five magazines - Oriental Sunday, Weekend Weekly, New Monday and Fashion & Beauty. This allows the group to integrate campaigns across print, social media and digital channels and the four publications.Danny Lee, executive director of sales and marketing, said, "The restructuring of our team gives us greater flexibility in offering cross-platform campaigns."For Chan, this allows the group to go beyond its print titles in an era where O2O is all the rage."Our approach and mindset has changed - we are no longer limited to one print title with limited digital platforms," she said."We are thinking in the same way as marketers and agencies and selecting appropriate offline and online platforms to achieve different marketing objectives."Marketing campaigns for Economic Digest, the fifth magazine owned by the group, has not been bundled together with the other four magazines."Due to the nature of the content in Economic Digest, advertising clients are more finance-oriented. It covers investment analysis, business, property and banking and finance sectors so this content is different from the lifestyle-oriented content of the other magazines," Lee said.
