Nestlé Malaysia’s Eugene Chan (pictured) is stepping down from his role as regional head of communications, marketing services and innovation and renovation for Malaysia and Singapore, effective 16 March. This comes nearly three years after he was appointed to the role in 2016. Replacing him is Chow Phee Chat, current marketing communications and corporate affairs director for Nestlé Singapore.
Chan has been with Nestlé for approximately 15 years, helming roles in sales, marketing and communications across six global Nestlé markets. In his current role, Nestlé said Chan is recognised for his commitment towards building a performance-driven marketing culture and credited with strengthening Nestlé Malaysia’s marketing and media ecosystems. Meanwhile, Chow joined Nestlé in 2000 under the brand management team and has held various roles since then, including national key account manager, sales director and marketing director.
Last year, the company picked Publicis One and Zenith to manage its media business in Malaysia and Singapore respectively, after it called for a pitch in June 2018 to reexamine ways to manage media requirements such as strategy, planning and buying. Mindshare had held the business for around two decades prior to this.
