The National Gallery Singapore appoints local agency as creative partner

The National Gallery Singapore has appointed Govt Singapore as its creative agency. Marketing understands R3 managed the pitching process.

As the Gallery’s new creative agency, the first major exhibition that Govt will embark on will be Iskandar Jalil: Kembara Tanah Liat (Clay Travels), slated to open on 1st September 2016.

Last reported, National Gallery Singapore worked with M&C Saatchi to launch the Gallery’s first nationwide campaign titled ‘My Masterpiece’ in the lead-up to the Gallery’s official opening in late 2015.

Leon Lai, managing director of Govt Singapore said, “Winning an account like the Gallery is one of the proudest moments in our careers. The Gallery provides a fantastic creative opportunity for us as an agency, and especially for a homegrown agency, it is with a lot of pride that we have been trusted to market one of the biggest institutional brands in Singapore.”

Most recently, Govt also bolstered its local team with the hire of Kevin Seah as senior account manager and Rayner Seah as senior copywriter. Meanwhile in April, Kevin Joseph joined the team as senior copywriter from Y&R Singapore, bringing with him over seven years worth of experience from both Y&R and Ogilvy. Damien Cheng also joined Govt Singapore as an account manager from BatesChi & Partners.
