Nando’s democratises new platters

Malaysia’s 13th General Elections is abuzz and in keeping with that, Nando’s Malaysia wants to bring Malaysians closer with three new ‘Democracy Platters’ on its menu.

In line with the launch, Nando’s Malaysia has launched a new integrated campaign around its Democracy Platters, injecting the democracy theme with the tagline ‘Janji DiPeri-Peri’ and ‘Sebangsa, Senegara, SePeri-Peri’ in its execution.

Fanny Chai, regional marketing manager for Nando’s, said that in conjunction with the year-end school holidays and various festivities, consumers have reasons to celebrate and treat themselves and loved ones. The Democracy Platters help to cater to this by offering variety to large groups of diners.

The campaign is promoted on both traditional and digital platforms, with a Facebook contest, print ads and radio commercials on Hitz FM and Era. Nando’s had earlier scripted and recorded a bolder radio ad that did not make it to the airwaves, but might be shared on social media.

In its photo contest, participants need to submit a fun photo of their group enjoying a Democracy Platter and party pack, signing it off with a caption.

Entries are then to be uploaded via Twitter or Instagram with #nandosMY, followed by an online registration.

Set to run from 9 November to 3 January, the campaign was conceptualised by Creative Juice Kuala Lumpur with MediaCliq handling the campaign’s digital aspect.
