MyTeksi helps retrenched MAS staff in need of jobs

Following the news breaking of the Malaysia Airlines going bankrupt, and a third of its jobs being cut, fellow Malaysian brand MyTeksi has reached out to help MAS.On its Facebook page, it said that as a small gesture, it would like to invite ex-MAS staff to join its “ever expanding family” across marketing customer service, sales and logistic roles.A special microsite has also been created for job entries for these ex-staff members. The post has already gotten over 1700 likes and 600 shares. The firm followed up with new contracts to 14,000 of them, said an AFP article.Meanwhile, just yesterday newly appointed chief executive of Malaysia Airlines Christoph Mueller announced that the carrier is "technically bankrupt". He also explained that the performance was on a decline long before the “tragic events of 2014”. Reasons for the loss making were not only due to the airline disasters but also growing regional competition, he explained.This news comes as the airline is in the midst of a major branding pitch. This was called in April and involved at least 15 network agencies. A+M understands that the pitch covers areas such as visual identity, brand pitch and creative execution.Also just last week, Kazanah Nasional Berhad, the sole shareholder of Malaysian Airline System Berhad (MAS), appointed Dato’ Mohammad Faiz Azmi as administrator for MAS to facilitate the transfer of “selected assets and liabilities from MAS to the new company Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB)” effective 1 September 2015.
