MullenLowe Indonesia has appointed David Lukas as group managing director, with immediate effect where he will oversee MullenLowe and subsidiary Rise Indonesia. Lukas will be responsible for leading a team tasked with re-energising and strengthening the business following an intense period of change, with a collective aim to make the agency better and stronger.? Lukas has been with MullenLowe Group since 2012 and so has a deep understanding of the agency?s business and clients.

As well as looking to build greater digital capabilities, another of Lukas' priorities will be to reorganise teams by upgrading skillsets and flattening the organisational structure, thus giving more opportunities to young and upcoming talent.? He will also focus on strengthening campaign project management capabilities to speed up time to market.

Lukas is a multi-disciplinary leader specialising in creative and graphics. Starting his career over a decade ago as a design director at Leo Burnett Group Indonesia, he has also worked with several agencies under PT. Indo Ad. Ogilvy Mather Indonesia.

?With his creative background, business acumen and pragmatic approach to communication, Lukas has the right blend of skills to drive our Indonesia operation through the changes brought about by both our own situation and by the market forces transforming our industry. Actually,we have a unique occasion to turn a challenge into an opportunity,? said Vincent Digonnet, APAC CEO, Mullenlowe Group.

Lukas said: ?MullenLowe Indonesia is going through a period of change, however, I believe with strong teamwork, we will strive. This is a good time to demonstrate our strengths and improve MullenLowe Indonesia?s position in the market. With enhanced digital capabilities and by empowering our young talents, our aim is to become the most effective creative business solution partner in Indonesia.?

In August this year, former MullenLowe Indonesia CEO Joseph Tan?exited the agency together with chief creative officer?Roy Wisnu and chief operating officer Daniel Siswandi to set up their own agency called ROMP. A MullenLowe Group APAC spokesperson confirmed this in a statement to?Marketing Interactive, adding that ?less than 30%? of the workforce initially resigned, but the number has ?significantly reduced? following positive discussion. Mullenlowe Indonesia has approximately 250 employees before the exits.
