The Malaysian Media Awards 2013 has called for entries for its ninth annual awards, organised by the Media Specialists Association (MSA) in recognition of media campaigns that have delivered exceptional results through stretagy and innovative execution.
The MMA 2013 will see 13 categories and two special awards up for contest, along with a more defined guideline and an easier submission process.
One major change to MMA 2013 is the reduction of categories from previous year’s 14 to 13, with the Newspaper and Magazine categories combined into a single competing category this year due to MMA’s pledge to adhere to the strict Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) guidelines.
“This is to ensure that media agencies and planners are acting responsibly and are accountable to their clients in ensuring an audited reach of audience,” said Juliana Chua (pictured left), chairman of the 9th MMA.
Girish Menon (pictured right), vice president of the MSA, said the industry expects a post-Elections slowdown in local adex growth. “With no major events taking place after GE that might spur adspend, we are expecting a slightly moderate growth wherein we expect to end the year with about 6% year-on-year increase.”
The list of categories in MMA 2013 include newspaper/magazine, television, digital, radio, digital search, social media, sponsorship, out of home media, activation/events, point of sale, branded content on screen, small budget (under RM100,000), and best integrated media campaign.
The MMA 2013 award ceremony is set to take place on 21 June 2013 at The Majestic Kuala Lumpur.
