MRM//McCann Hong Kong appoints Jonathan Liu as managing director

MRM//McCann has appointed Jonathan Liu as senior vice president, managing director of MRM//McCann Hong Kong.

Starting off  his career in the US, Liu has worked in Hong Kong for the past 10 years, mostly in regional roles supporting the Asia Pacific region. His most recent role was managing director APAC, at EveryMundo, a performance technology company serving airlines.

Prior to that, he was head of digital strategy and implementation at J3, an independent agency within the IPG network dedicated to Johnson & Johnson brands worldwide. He also previously served as head of performance/regional, head of search for IPG Mediabrands in Hong Kong, and management positions at Neo@Ogilvy, Expedia Hotels.com and Yahoo!. Liu was also a founder and managing director of Moonlight Marketing, an independent digital agency serving clients in the Asia Pacific region.

Kate MacNevin, global president of MRM//McCann, said, “We are very excited to have Liu joining our team in Hong Kong. He understands digital, he knows the region and he has deep knowledge of emerging disruptive technologies and trends.” MacNevin added that Liu in his new role will help create customer and product strategies.

Speaking of his appointment, Liu said he was thrilled to join and looking forward to the opportunities ahead.  “The agency’s laser focus on pursuing the most data-intensive and technically sophisticated marketing programs on behalf of our customers means that we are learning new things with every project and campaign we execute.
