MRM//McCann China appoints Bryce Whitwam as CEO

Bryce Whitwam has joined MRM//McCann as its new China CEO. He replaces Mike Zeng in the role and will be responsible for driving growth across MRM//McCann’s China operations of over 200 people.Prior to joining MRM//McCann, Whitwam was CEO of Wunderman Greater China. He has previously held senior management roles at Nielsen, MullenLowe and Ogilvy.“We thank Mike for his many contributions to MRM//McCann over the years, and wish him well in his future endeavours,” said Kate MacNevin, Global CEO, MRM//McCann. “Bryce is one of Asia’s pioneers of non-traditional advertising, and we are absolutely thrilled he is joining the MRM team to oversee and drive growth across all of our China operations.”MacNevin added, “In China, the digital share of total media spend is 69.5% – the highest in the world, and this is expected to account for more than 75% of total spend by 2021. In this highly competitive Chinese market – a market that is incredibly important to future growth of our global MRM//McCann business – it is imperative we are using our data and technology capabilities to drive digital transformation for our clients.” An industry veteran, Whitwam has 25 years’ of marketing communications experience across key categories – including automotive and telecommunications – having run teams for Ford, Huawei, Land Rover, and Microsoft. He is a specialist in digital and data-driven marketing, retail communications, and brand activation.“I’m positively excited to be joining MRM//McCann China,” said Whitwam. “They have an extremely strong portfolio of global and local clients, including one of the best creative teams in the business.
