As part of its Global Volunteer Month, Mondelez Malaysia recently supported its employees’ volunteering efforts.During the month-long initiative, Mondelez Malaysia organised social visits and gave donations to children with special needs. Global Volunteer Month is an international platform for Mondelez International employees to give something back to the communities they operate in by supporting causes they are passionate about and to ultimately help make a difference. The Global Volunteer Month is in conjunction with Mondelez International’s anniversary since their name change from Kraft Foods Inc. in 2012.In the month of October, over 90 employees from Mondelez Malaysia’s local offices in Kuala Lumpur, Prai and Johor Bahru worked with local community partners to improve the overall well-being of underprivileged children. The employees came together to support a number of children’s homes and schools – the Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor & Federal Territory (SCAS&FT), Persatuan Kebajikan Sinar Ceria, Shan Children’s Home in Prai and Berkat Children Home in Johor Bahru through multiple activities both inside and outside the classroom. In line with Mondelez International's ‘Call For Well-being’, employees brought “joy to more than 180 children in different children’s homes across Malaysia.”The tradition of volunteerism from Mondelez International’s ‘Call For Well-being’ is led across the board in 35 other countries, which includes Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Indonesia. The ‘Call For Well-being’ focuses on four key areas where Mondelez International can make the greatest impact: mindful snacking, sustainability, community and safety.
