User mobile apps to get tracked by Twitter

To help build a more personal Twitter experience, the social media giant said that it is collecting and “occasionally updating the list of apps installed on user’s mobile device.”Through this it hopes to create a more personalised feel for its users and also send out more targeted messages to its twitter users. It also added that users will now see more relevant promoted content.“We are only collecting the list of applications you have installed. We are not collecting any data within the applications,” the company said in a press statement.Meanwhile, those not interested in a tailored experience can adjust preferences. If users have previously opted out of interest-based ads by turning on “Limit Ad Tracking” on their iOS device or by adjusting Android device settings to “Opt out of interest-based ads,” Twitter will not collect the list of apps on their mobile devices.Twitter also added that it will notify users about this feature being turned on for their account by showing a prompt. Until this prompt is seen, Twitter claims it will not be collecting a list of apps.Twitter has just recently launched a series of initiatives to help push its growth. In APAC it came up with a new real-time marketing and advertising tool  for small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Singapore, Australia and Japan. Meanwhile globally, the self-service ads have been made available in 28 markets worldwide with two large SMB markets – India and Indonesia – next on the road map as well.Twitter also introduced Twitter Flight School, a new online resource to help agencies make most of real-time-marketing on the platform for their clients. It has partnered with Mindshare as its pilot regional agency to roll out Flight School to Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
