Merrell promotes tourism hotspots with DOT

Merrell lends the Department of Tourism (DOT) a hand on promoting the Philippine’s tourism hot spots via its long-running “Getaway to Adventure” campaign.The US-based outdoor footwear brand will be holding online photo and an in-store contest starting this month until March 2015, awarding winner with free trips to major tourism destinations.The campaign launch was timed to Merrell’s introduction of its AllOut footwear collection in the country – “Out.Hike” for hiking and trekking explorations, “Out.Paddle” designed for water destinations and Out.Explore for road to off-road travels.Full details have yet to be revealed but the online contest was done via Facebook where users are encouraged to share photos on Merrell’s official page following a theme. Meanwhile, Merrell footwear buyers automatically enters the in-store contest, possibly for a raffle.Winners for April will be flown to Sierre Madre, a mecca for climbing and hiking enthusiasts boasting the country’s the longest mountain range spanning 1.4 million hectares of forest.
