MediaCorp launches Malay and Tamil news portals

Today marks the launch of two news portals from MediaCorp, MediaCorp Berita and MediaCorp Seithi, catering to their respective Malay and Tamil news and current affairs consumers. These portals will provide a wide range of information regarding news and developments within Singapore and the region, starting today.Android and IOS apps will be available later in March this year for the portals. The portals will be updated in real time.Content covered will range from  financial and business news to sports and entertainment.Ibrahim Hassan, supervising editor for Malay News and Current Affairs said: “This new platform will definitely be a great addition to viewers and listeners who have been following our news and current affairs programmes,” said Hassan. “They can now catch these programmes and enhanced content conveniently from one portal.”The MediaCorp editorial Division, which produces content for all the MediaCorp TV, radio, print and digital platforms, will support digital journalists working on the two portals. The combination of the Malay and the Tamil News and Current Affairs departments will provide coverage of stories from the wide network of regional Channel NewsAsia and Today correspondents. The websites will also upload current affairs TV programmes that have been aired on Suria and Vasantham, with additional access to any of the MediaCorp Radio stations to catch up with breaking news as it is aired.R.
