Media Prima Labs levels up in the gaming arena

Barely a year old in the apps and games industry, Media Prima Labs (MP Labs) is determined to make a mark and establish itself as a serious player. As such it has decided to enter Level Up KL 2016, which is organised by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).Level Up KL brings together local, regional and international players, it is hoped such a gathering will boost the regional game development scene as well as encourage participants to interact, educate and share knowledge. After its inaugural event, Level Up KL has now extended an invitation to MP Labs to partner them for the five-day event, taking place from 5 to 9 November at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur.MP Labs will be conducting several headlining and side events throughout the five-day event.#1 GAME JAM @ MakespaceAfter the ‘hacking’ of Ejen Ali, culminating in two versions of the game – Ejen Ali: M.A.T.A Training Academy and Ejen Ali: Emergency, MP Labs is looking to unearth its next mobile game success story at Level Up KL 2016 via Game Jam. The 36-hour hackathon will take place at Make Space, Quill City Mall with 99 registered participants from Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Poland, Egypt, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.#2 PROJECT MATCHING INDIE @ InterContinental KLAn opportunity for indie programmers, illustrators/artists/designers and developers to connect and explore areas of possible collaboration.#3 SIDE EVENT: MOBILE GAME COMMERCIALISATION @ InterContinental KLThis is an exclusive two-hour sharing session where Streamline Studios and AppAnnie would be featured and audiences can hear from them the development and future of mobile games in Malaysia, going beyond what was once purely a means of leisurely escapism to a robust application for brands to reach out to consumers, in addition to providing a profitable revenue-generating platform.“It’s an exciting time for the region’s game industry as we have been seeing significant growth over the past few years and with Malaysia playing a leading role in this growth, Level Up KL serves as a beacon to draw in the best talents from around the world to share their know-hows with our local heroes.
