Media Prima Digital held a Hackathon, a social coding event gathering developers to hack technological applications and platforms on24 and 25 May.
With the aim of fostering innovation, creativity and courage to solving problems and making the world a better place, the event attracted 300 participants.
The event saw 300 hackers create a total of 71 projects, prototyped mobile and web applications scrutinized by industrial expert judges such as Joshua Lee Slayton, co-founder and CTO, AngelList, Gregory Gopman, founder of Angelhack, Vincent Ha, co-founder of Gushcloud,
Jason Lo, chief executive officer of Tune Talk, Bala Pomaleh, chief executive officer of Carat Malaysia, Lakshmi Patmarajah, head of marketing & partnerships of UBER Malaysia, Nicholas T. Sagau, head of product of Media Prima Digital and Ian Su, Microsoft Malaysia’s evangelist and expert.
This year’s grand prize went to “Let’s Park”, which attempts to solve the problem of finding a parking around mall or offices – a problem Malaysians face on a daily basis. “Let’s Park” was created to alert users with the simple touch of a finger detailed information to the nearest available parking spot.
