MCI awards project worth over SG$2 million to GroupM

Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) has appointed GroupM, along with Ogilvy Public Relations and Zoo Group for the conceptualisation and management of a national cyber security awareness campaign.The network and its agency partners will also be responsible for management, design, development, execution and PR support.The account is worth SG$2,633,110 and saw agencies such as C2 Creative Communication and Mangham Gaxiola vying for the account.The ministry recently collaborated with Mediacorp and Tribal Worldwide Singapore to reach out to members of the silver generation who communicate in dialect. This was through an info-educational drama series Eat Already? It also collaborated with Royston Tan and for the local director’s latest telemovie, “The Provision Shop”. The movie explores the theme of social adjustment and the initial discomfort, latent angst and eventual joys of embracing diversity in multicultural Singapore.In July, it launched a documentary-style spot with a David Attenborough-like narrative to breath new life to the age-old topic of retirement planning.
