Ben Welsh, creative chairman of M&C Saatchi Asia, has moved to DDB Australia to take on the role of chief creative officer.
Welsh took on the creative chairman role with M&C Saatchi in October last year to focus on pitching for both international and national brands in each region. He was handling markets such as Singapore, New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Tokyo, while being based in Australia.
He was also tasked to growing and developing the creative output of the agencies. According to M&C Saatchi, the appointment of Welsh marks a change in emphasis for the Network as Asia changes dramatically in recent years.
Marketing has reached out to M&C Saatchi for a comment on his replacement.
Meanwhile CEO of DDB Group Australia, Andrew Little, said: “Welsch is such a great person and the perfect creative leader for our agency as we look to continue our creative trajectory. I know our Exec Team and Creative Partners are excited to have him on board and I have every confidence that under Ben’s leadership, our agency will continue to deliver world-class work across the portfolio of fantastic brands we have within the building.”
Welsh (pictured) said, “Some of the best people I’ve ever worked with are at DDB Group Sydney. It’s a standout office, in one of the world’s great networks, and the time is right for me to return to DDB.”
