Malaysia Airlines announced the appointment of Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah (pictured) as its head of strategic communications, effective yesterday, responsible for media and external relations as well as internal communications and crisis management.
Dato’ Najmuddin was the chief executive officer of Kontena Nasional Global Logistics (KNGL) the freight forwarding arm of Kontena Nasional, a subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) Group; also a government-linked company (GLC).
He has also worked in a number of key corporate organizations including Celcom Axiata where he was vice president, corporate communications responsible for news and media relations, government relations, internal communications, community relations and event management.
Prior to that, he was head of brand marketing and communications in TH Properties, responsible for marketing products of Bandar Enstek, Sepang.
He was also formerly the managing editor and head of news and current affairs at ntv7 leading the news and current affairs division. Dato’ Najmuddin also played a key role in the re-branding exercise of My News Network (MNN) news content portal.
