Marriott gives out Mr. Men & Little Miss plush toys to loyalty programme members

Marriott International has announced it will be giving out customised Mr. Men & Little Miss plush toys to its travel programme members.

Aiming to strengthen its relationship with members of Marriott Bonvoy (the travel programme of Marriott International) the programme has worked with Sanrio to offer customised plush toys of Roger Hargreaves’ classic characters for the children of members. The entire set of plush toys includes 10 characters.

Created in the 1970s by English author Hargreaves, Sanrio Global acquired the rights to the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters in 2011.

“This special partnership between Marriott Bonvoy and Sanrio’s Mr. Men & Little Miss exemplifies our commitment to finding new ways to reward our members and their loved ones,” said Peggy Fang Roe, chief sales and marketing officer, Asia Pacific at Marriott International.

In addition to this promotion, Marriott Bonvoy is also launching two meet-and-greet events in Shanghai and Tokyo with  Mr. Men & Little Miss’ author and illustrator Adam Hargreaves, the son of Roger Hargreaves.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Marriott Bonvoy and extend our Mr. Men & Little Miss characters to multi-generational audiences across the Asia Pacific region. The ten chosen characters will prove to be great travel companions, as they and the children embark on wonderful and memorable adventures together,” concluded Alastair McHarrie, licensing director of Sanrio Global.
