Independent web portal Malaysiakini has confirmed with A+M that it is gearing up to launch its revamped website at the end of the month.
The revamp effort started in June, just after the 13th Malaysian Generation Election.
Premesh Chandran, chief executive officer of Malaysiakini, told A+M that readers will not see the new features at this stage as most of the changes are done on the back-end.
“Our revamped website will have less advertising clutter and better integration for KiniBiz and KiniTV. It has the flexibility to attract opportunities for premium advertisers.”
New features and content changes will be introduced some time next year. However, it will not affect the mobile apps at the moment.
The revamp is managed in-house.
According to Chandran, Malaysiakini records in 2.5 million unique readers.
