Courts Asia is set to open its first ‘Big-Box' Megastore in Malaysia, marking the group's largest store here.Scheduled for opening in August 2013, the 108,000 square feet two-storey store will host multi-channel shopping experiences with the increasing trend of mobile and tech-savvy consumers. These experiences include a customer ‘experience zone', where shoppers can touch, feel, use and experience products before purchase, apart from designated sections for shoppers to customise mattresses, seek IT consultation and get promotions and offers. Also to be made available are QR codes, enabling quick reference, mobile payments and pick-up or delivery arrangements to be made on the spot.Customers will be able to look up the latest discounts, product information or navigate their way around the store through kiosks. These various experiences come under individual sub-brands launched by Courts Asia, namely "Courts Solutions Bar', ‘Sleep Clinic' and ‘Dr Digital'.Courts Asia's executive director and group chief executive officer Terence Donald O'Connor said the ‘Big-Box' format store is one that was pioneered in Singapore and now was the perfect time to introduce the concept here."Household needs are becoming more sophisticated today, and innovative retailing concepts that provide multi-channel experiences have become an important part of the purchase consideration," he added. The retail haven is part of integrated business retail cum leisure concept development that will serve an immediate population of over 750,000.Courts currently operates more than 70 stores across Singapore and Malaysia, spanning over one million sq. ft. of retail space, including the first ‘big-box' Megastore in Singapore.Courts will soon be expanding into the Indonesian market, with the first Megastore operational by 2014.
